About Me

Hello I'm Richard Webb-Stevens

I have severe bilateral hearing loss & tinitus since birth. Mid-High frequencys 70-95 Db loss.
Some people would say I'm hard of hearing...some people say I'm deaf, some people tell me I'm "a percentage" deaf....... I say I'm deaf as I can't hear some sounds/conversations full stop. I'm gratefull I have some hearing and accept I'm not completely deaf.
I've worn 2 hearing aids since I was 4 and rely heavily on lip reading.
I work as a Motorcycle Paramedic for the London Ambulance Service. I have served for 12 years.
I'm married and we have 3 children and a dog and assist with emergency foster caring too.
I'm Learning BSL Level 1 at Harrow College.
My Wife is hearing and is doing her level 6 BSL interpreting units.
I love to cook & eat...(in that order... but sometimes I eat, cook then eat!)
I play the guitar...albeit loud so I can hear it ;-)
My goal is to become fluent in BSL
All the best,

Richard Webb-Stevens ;-)

    Hi Richard
My vision isnt bad as such, its the balance that causes things to move when I move my head or move head L or R.
Bells Palsy still there Its a bad 1 this MIGHT last about 6 mon ths, 1st 1 had lasted about 8 years lol when I was young, ended up with lisp, so had speech therapy. Whe I go sit in garden when sun is shining depending what side the sun is shining.
