Mike Ashley, who owns Soccer World, the biggest sports retailer, bought 41.6% share from Newcastle chairman, Sir John Hall for £55m..not a bad investment for Sir John....He invested £3m into Newcastle in the 1980's !!!

He wants to gain control of the club if he buys Freddie Shepherd's remaining share - 28% I think, to take full control and take the club off Stock Exchange and turn it into a private ownership.

What do you think? I think he bought it on cheap but good for the club as Mike has money to burn to make Newcastle a successful football club!

Mr Ashley's holding company, St James Developments is one of my customers!
