Hi All,

Some of you may have noticed that the dvd-subtitles.com website has fallen into disrepair - the database is becoming out of date, and some of the affiliate links to buy DVDs no longer work, among other problems.

The reason for the problems is that I moved to using Apple Macs both at home and work last year, and at the moment dvd-subtitles.com relies on a very complex upload system based on a home PC, which I no longer have. So updating the DVD database has become too difficult, and is now about 4 months out of date.

Not to worry though!

My company has now established a strong infrastructure in database systems for similar websites to dvd-subtitles.com, and using this I am going to rebuild the dvd-subtitles.com website very soon, starting in the coming weeks, and possibly in the new year we should have a spanking new design for the site.

Meanwhile, the website itself still works fine and please do continue to post subtitling information on titles. If the title is relatively new it may not be on the site - in this case you can email me your comments directly and I will hold onto them until the site has finally been updated.

Many thanks all all your patience and support.

Cheers,
Mat

Hi

I can't wait see all new website. Xmas holiday coming up so will update my DVDs. I am tempting to update my DVD player to blue ray player but haven't seen much of blue ray DVD films on website. Ooh nice to have Apple Mac - wanna swap with all my DVDs for it? wink.gif

I have booked appointment to see Trading standard about that bloody Walt Disney with their every single DVD coversheet 'this bonus may not contain subtitle' etc - ain't expecting nothing really but worth a try.

That's good news. If you rebuild the site, adding Blu-Ray would be nice, because I really miss Blu-Ray subtitling information at the moment.

Yes, the new site has Blu-ray DVDs included and are labelled as such. Subtitling information will be almost non-existent until members have started rating Blu-ray DVDs.

Quick progress update, the back end is up and running and the automated update system is working - so the information will be auto updated every week, instead of me having to do it manualy every month or so. A skeleton website is running, but it will be a little while before all the current functionality is duplicated on the new site. At the moment the new site looks almost identical to the current site, but with some minor adjustments.

I am now off on a skiing holiday for Xmas, so will get back to it in the New year.

Cheers,

Mat
