Lyric Hammersmith and Filter
Directed by Sean Holmes & Filter

Hope, despair and vodka.

Frustrated by their small-town existence, the Prozorov family long to return to Moscow. But as relationships, duty and misguided optimism take hold they soon find their dreams drifting further away from them…

Fusing imaginative staging, evocative physicality and Filter’s trademark use of sound, this brand new production distils the essence of Chekhov’s classic.

Following their hit show Twelfth Night (RSC), exhilarating theatre company Filter and the Lyric Hammersmith’s Artistic DirectorSean Holmes delve beneath the surface to explore one family’s search for ever elusive happiness.

If you liked our co-production of Brief Encounter with Kneehigh, orFrantic Assembly’s Othello, then you’ll love this.

Went to see this performance last week and I found it very interesting, it was much better than 'My Zinc Bed'.

I could really understand the storyline, and you could interact with the characters. The main genre of the play was strong drama, but there was a bit of comedy, too smile.gif

The interpreter was fricking awesome by the way! biggrin.gif
