here some ideas to change softwares:
if you using diskeeper or perfect disk, try change to to auslogics disk defrag which it has optimized feature and it faster to finish the job than diskeeper or perfectdisk becasue they takes forever like 6hrs with perfectdisk o.o
if you using real player to download flash videos from youtube, google videos + any others you can use http://clipnabber.com/ which it can download flash videos from any sites + there options which file type to download like FLV, MP4 or mobile type..
also if you using divx, real player or quicktime, try remove them all and install VLC player which it has all in one player music to videos! the vlc team are testing the latest VLC 1.1.0-RC1 right now
