the only diffy between ireland and england is that ireland had more time preparing the team than england did, i mean BIG BIG BIG time ... so LUCK was with the ire-lish in term of time for game plan and preparations; england just didn't have the 5 P's "Poor Preparation leads to Pis Poor Performance"
just hope the club vs country conflictions get sorted real soon, since it has been a VERY on going thing (!!!!)
my ideal line ups for the next match would be;
15) Lewsey/Robinson
14) Robinson/Lewsey
13) Tindall
12) Tait
11) Strettle
10) Wilkinson
9) Ellis
1) Stevens
2) Mears
3) Vickery
4) Grewcock
5) Borthwick
6) Worsley
7) Rees
8.) Lund
bench
Sheridan, Chuter, Deacon/Kay/Palmer, Corry, Perry, Barkley, Cueto.

Rob i like the old five p's lecture bet you never had that every week when you were playing for marlow, and didn't turn up for training. Did you manage to get to see the leicester match on saturday? Your old mate was there, was gonna say playing but i don't think any of them were playing.
as for the country v club thingy i think that will be the ruin of our world cup hope if they don't get it sorted. If you lose a a league game because most of your top players are away on national duty at least you've got a reason to complain
get Corry back on as captain for one last chance i think he might be a different bloke under Ashton and give the guys the kick up the A they need.

Spursgizmo, you're contradicting yourself there! Yes, we won due to better preparation but where the hell does luck come into it?
Just glad we won it in the croke park, makes the day even more sweeter!

Drodz, 5 P's hmmmm well i think it's cos am a naturally good player to need to turn up for training .. course i do attend to training a lot .. without rugby life is naffy !!
yeh did watch bit of the tigers match and yes, miserably i spotted the lucky buckland ... i wouldnt call a mate but someone i know who play for my old club numero uno enemy !! have read somewhere that buckland is being picked for the Saxons perhaps the seniors soon if he keeps performing to replace chuter ... hmmm ...
Tom .. LUCK ; coz ireland club vs country row no longer exist giving them EVERY right to have a full team preparation etc etc etc .. we were UNLUCKY not to have our fair share ... so ireland were LUCKY not to have those problems otherwise ireland'd sniff a Class A can of whup Aess ...
anyway ye dont belong to this topic as ye dont follow rugby so shoo shoo wanna-be (!!!) heh

Rob, as a moderator you aren't doing a fine job, thought the forum was open to everyone.
At the end of the day, the better team won and that was the Irish! Basically, i'm just grateful for all the free pints from my english mates, perhaps you'd be willing to contribute one yourself?

Ireland have always been my second national team to follow. they have some good quality player and when they are on form you can see some great rugby. I think what you said in your previous post about england not gelling as a team is quite right and robs not disagreeing with this. what he is trying to say is how the hell can you gel as a team when clubs wont release the players to let you do so.
Can't see why you deserve free beer for watching a game of rugby in which the team you support won " unless it was a bet" or you were maybe playing or even maybe the manager. we have already worked out that Mr ashton visits D4L so what's stopping mr o'sullivan
Thats probably why we lost.

Lol, yup it was a bet with my mates! Traditional annual bet when it comes down to the showdown between the two nations!
I agree that the issue of having time to gel as a team plays a big factor in the 6 nations but to put the irish victory purely down to luck is just not on!
All the best in your remaining games in 6 nations and in the forthcoming world cup!

World Cup  we have got some work to do before then!!
I think my highlight of the world cup will be O'Driscoll getting his own back on mealamu for that death spear in the lions tour, its a shame Umaga has retired or he would of had him as well  . I think he is only just coming back on form after that injury I thought he would never get back to his best, but he seems to be getting there  I hope they do the reply to the haka like he did with the lions as thats what p*****d them off i think.
Same to you with the next couple of games and of course the world cup. England V Ireland in the world cup final "now that would be a match" think they would call a national holiday

Chris White the ref against Italy/ Wales should be sacked for stitching Wales up yesterday. It is not fair to tell them that they had time to go for a line out and then blow the whistle robbing them of a draw.

It would be nice to see Ireland win the six nations on St Paddy's day  but would be even better if France and ireland lose and we slaughter Wales

Now 2007 Nations!!!
Wales, Italy and France will have new manager and captain. It will be interesting to see them what they do.
Great to see us able to call up Vainikolo, world class player. Jonny will have serious competition in Danny C!! Lots of young players. What a exciting time to be England Fan!!!!! (and lots of Worcester Warriors's young players will come through, Keep watch for Benjamin, Cox, Mullan, Pennel, Carlisle!!!!)
Scotland and Ireland will be ok, personally i think Eddie O'Sullvan should be sacked after awful performance in World Cup.

It's difficult to pick a winner this year, but I have a feeling Ireland may just edge it, bouncing back from their poor World Cup performance.

I thought Wales gelled quite well as a side, could have something to do with most of them being Ospreys though :P
Looking forward to see vainikolo start this week he didn't get much ball last week but when he did he looked good.
See how we go this week and if we have a poor match then I think Ashton should take a leaf out of Gatland's book and start 13 Tigers for the game against France on the 23rd

Same side in 2011? Erm, that's quite some time off. None of the teams including England is going to be the same in 2011. Some of their players are in their 30+'s time for younger players to go into squad now and build up experience for 2011.
Having said that...Vainikolo certainly was a great player...at one point, it took 3 Welshmen to bring him down! He's not English...pfff

Am pleased Wales won

Cymru am byth!
However Warren Garland have stated that he does not expect to win matches the first year including for this Six Nations - he want to wipe the slate clean with Wales basically and remove the idea of "player power" which is a problem etc. So Wales next year would be a very different team. And the year after that too and focus more on the younger player too that's more likely to play in the World Cup. I'm excited about having Warren Garland as the Welsh coach - he'll be a good one for them.
I'm still amazed Wales won. England dominated the first half. Just utter dominated it. No chance at all for Wales...so I'm sitting screaming my head off and at the same time just speechless that we're...actually...WINNING in the 2nd half!

And just wtf happened to England?! They just lost the plot.
